Social Media Update

I joined Twitter. Yep, I took the leap, the 100 character challenge, and started an account. You can find me making daily musings, quotes, photos and even some talk about writing over there at:

@emmagillwriter

I also started a subreddit on Reddit for the writing I have collected there. Some is cross-posted between this blog and the subreddit, but in general the Reddit stories are for practice and writing feedback. I tend to post a few times a week on the constrained writing prompts. I like the challenge and ability to practice in various genres, styles of writing, and time constraints it gives me. Plus the members of Writing Prompts, my usual sub, are very friendly and give great critique. If you are ever stuck for inspiration on something to write, or want to use a prompt to practice a certain style, I recommend them. Here’s my sub if you do feel like checking it out:

PS – The space lynx avatar may just be a reference to a future Archivist universe character. Though she’s not in book one. And yes, her equipment is modelled somewhat on Garrus from Mass Effect. My favourite space story.

If you could have any avatar you like (or if you’ve already got one), what would it be?

What do you feel about having multiple social media platforms? I may start an Instagram account too… But that would involve taking lots more photos. Rain check for now. If you’ve any advice, please do comment!

  1. Hello Emma, following you today here and on twitter. I can barely keep up with WordPress and normal emails, and although I do have Instagram and Pinterest, I don’t have the time or patience to be involved in any more social media 🙂 Nice to meet you!
